    It seems so unreasonable to me to imagine that building more roads will solve Melbourne’s gridlock. The only way to solve it long term is to put in efficient subsidised public transport . Thus people who live in the outer suburbs and work in town could have a choice on how to commute. Much smaller cities than Melbourne have successfully bitten the bullet; either we want the problem solved or we don’t. More roads and tunnels make no sense.
