Herald Sun: Tearing up East West Link contract puts Victoria in reverse, writes Prime Minister Tony Abbott

BY tearing up the East West Link contracts, Dan Andrews has put Victoria in reverse.

The Victorian Government hasn’t just wasted hundreds of millions of dollars in taxpayer’s money — it has condemned Victorian motorists to spending more time stuck in traffic gridlock, and businesses to higher costs to deliver goods and services.

The East West Link would provide an essential alternative to the Monash and West Gate Freeways, reducing congestion on inner-northern and western suburbs roads.

The Link would cater for around 100,000 vehicles a day, bypassing 23 traffic lights and cutting an average 30 minutes travel time between CityLink and the Eastern Freeway.
