Melbourne Leader: Greens select candidates for Melbourne, Northcote and Richmond seats for 2014 state poll. Nic Price (31 December 2013)
The Greens have locked in their candidates for inner-city state seats, with human rights advocate Kathleen Maltzahn to go head-to-head again with Labor MP Richard Wynne in Richmond.
Meanwhile, environmentalist Ellen Sandell will contest the seat of Melbourne next November.

Ms Maltzahn will run on transport, climate change and social justice issues.
“With (Prime Minister Tony) Abbott in the Lodge, State Parliament matters more than ever. The (State) Government is failing to tackle the key issues: public transport, climate change, hospitals and schools, jobs and growing inequality,” Ms Maltzahn said.
Former Yarra councillor Ms Maltzahn has worked with organisations in Australia and the Philippines to help trafficked sex workers.
Ms Sandell said the Greens could get the 1.38 per cent swing required to take Melbourne from Labor MP Jennifer Kanis, with the East West Link shaping as a key issue in the seat.
Darebin councillor Trent McCarthy will run for the Greens in Northcote and the party is expected to nominate a candidate for Brunswick in February.
