A transport forum representing 23 councils and covering everything from the East West Link to a train to Melbourne Airport will be held on August 14 at Melbourne Town Hall.
The East West Link, a train to Melbourne Airport and removing level crossings will be on the agenda when Public Transport Minister Terry Mulder and Opposition spokeswoman Jill Hennessy face off at the Melbourne Town Hall this month.
The Metropolitan Transport Forum event, hosted by Melbourne Lord Mayor Robert Doyle, will put the two politicians head to head to debate the transport issues that will influence the state election.
Metropolitan Transport Forum chair Tom Melican.
Forum chair Tom Melican said the event would be devoted to public questions, giving voters the chance to ask questions about transport promises.
“With billions in transport promises on the table, the public are very keen to hear directly from the decision-makers,” Mr Melican said.
The forum represents 23 councils and will also hold local events for councils across Melbourne.
The forum will be held at Melbourne Town Hall on Thursday, August 14, from 6pm to 7.30pm. To RSVP or find a forum near you.
