There is plenty of blame to be laid over the East West Link debacle, but no one deserves more condemnation in this than Prime Minister Tony Abbott. Six years ago, Australians could be confident that there was sound and effective public policy in place for developing major infrastructure projects, and that it was being followed. Not any more. Today, the political environment around infrastructure development, especially in this state, is toxic.
