Trains Not Tolls Rally at Parliament House

Thank you so much to everyone who sacrificed their lunchtime & braved todays weather to rally on the steps of Parliament House for Trains Not Toll Roads Campaign Over 12,000 have signed the petition so far – it will stay online for several months to come.  We’ll have more photos & hopefully a report soon! This rally was initiated by community groups supporting the Trains Not Toll Roads campaign.

Speakers included Rod Quantock MC, Yarra Mayor Cr Jackie Fristacky, PTUA President Tony Morton, Daniel Andrews, Leader of the Victorian Opposition, Greg Barber MLC, Richard Wynne MP, State Labor Member for Richmond.

    I was proud to be at rally on Tues. Daniel Andrews should be our next Premier. But where were all TNTR supporters? And why wasn’t it covered on ABC news…….?

  2. There are so many ways to make public transport more attractive. Yes, it will cost, but compared to investing millions into tunnels, we should be looking at Doncaster Rail, Melbourne Airport Rail, Metro-conversion of the loop, decent parking at key train stations, keeping public transport costs down, better timetable design for our aging population, etc, etc.
