Great turnout today for the Community Rally against East West Link, assisted by staunch support from new “Umbrella Affinity Group” who sheltered us against the ever-changeable Melbourne spring weather.
Speakers included: Adam Bandt – Federal Member for Melbourne (Greens), Richard Wynne – State Member for Richmond (ALP), Stephen Jolly (Yarra Councillor – Socialist Party), Amanda Stone (Yarra Councillor – Greens), Freda Watkin – Yarra Campaign for Action on Transport, Jill Koppel – Collingwood and Abbotsford Residents Association, Anthony Main – Community picket organiser, Keith Fitzgerald & Mike Naismith – local residents, Rod Quantock – MC, Alexander Sheko – Students Linking Melbourne Sustainably, Christine Di Muccio – Residents Against the Tunnel (RATs).
